Horse Therapy Work

Wakanda works with adults and children in hospital or hospice care, in assisted living programs, with Gentle Carousel’s Reading Is Magic programs at libraries, schools and literacy events and with children who have special needs.

Nickname: Always Wakanda. It is a Native American name that means “Possesses Magical Powers”.

Appearance: Wakanda has one brown eye and one blue eye.

Special Skills: Wakanda has calmly traveled around the country. She was with the first team of therapy horses who worked at Sandy Hook/Newtown, CT right after the school tragedy and was at Moore, OK after the devastating tornado.

Favorite Thing: When it comes to early morning runs with her herd, Wakanda is always in the lead. She enjoys having a lot of space to exercise on the farm. She is also the leader of her little herd.

Personality: Wakanda is dependable and friendly. She is also the very patient mother of much loved therapy horse Scout.

Best Equine Friend: Therapy horses Sweetheart and Catherine are Wakanda’s best friends. They have made many visits together and enjoy spending time together in their pasture.
