Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace was born while the therapy horses were working in Charleston after the tragedy at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Thousands of people sent in name ideas when she was born.

Anthem

Anthem had a role in the film Apple of My Eye playing the character “Light”. The film stars legendary actor Burt Reynolds, Amy Smart (The Butterfly Effect, The Single Moms Club) . . .

Apollo

Apollo works at rehab hospitals and at schools in memory of Taylor Jean Skromme. Taylor was a 22 year old Physical Therapist Assistant with a passion for horses and barrel racing.

Bart

Bart thinks he is a miniature horse. He runs with the therapy horse herd and visits schools for reading programs.

Circus

Circus is the main character in the children’s book Spots.
He works inside schools and libraries as part of Gentle Carousel’s Reading with Horses literacy programs. Circus also visits children in hospital care and patients at rehab hospitals.

Cloudburst

Cloudburst won Martha Stewart’s national Halloween photo contest.
When it comes to working as a therapy horse, Cloudburst does it all. He has worked inside hospitals, Ronald McDonald Houses, hospice programs, assisted living programs . . .

Dream

Dream works with adults and children in hospital or hospice care and with military families. She brings her special love to events for Gold Star Families.

Little Prince

Little Prince was born on July 22, 2013, the same day as Prince George of Cambridge. He only weighed 6 pounds when he was born. Prince appeared on the stage of the famous Franklin Theatre in Tennessee as an “opening act” at a Red Steagall charity concert.

Magic

Magic is one of the most famous therapy animals in the world. She has won many awards including being One of History's 10 Most Courageous Animals by TIME Magazine and AARP’s Most Heroic Pet in America.

Mercury

Mercury is the main character in a book called Mercury & Sirius from Simply Pets Press. It is the story of his special relationship with canine best friend Sirius, a Maremma sheepdog that lives with him at Gentle Carousel.

Moonshadow

Moonshadow was filmed by Facebook for their very first official Facebook Stories. Facebook sent a team to film Moonshadow and Magic working with young hospital patients.

Rainbow

Rainbow made visits to a Ronald McDonald House and an assisted living program with canine movie superstar Benji. Benji flew in from California with trainer and film director Joe Camp to help with a fundraiser for Gentle Carousel.

Scout

Scout’s life is always exciting. He has been kissed by country music legend Barbara Mandrell, ridden on a real train at an event for children with autism, posed at a photo shoot at the Parthenon in Nashville. . .

Sparkle

Sparkle’s story is featured in the book Mini Horse, Mighty Hope: How a Herd of Miniature Horses Provides Comfort and Healing by Revell Publishing. He has also appeared on television programs and in magazines.

Sundance

Sundance has been featured in several books including Second-Chance Horses: True Stories of the Horses We Rescue and the Horses Who Rescue Us from Baker Publishing and Jason and Elihu: A Fisherman's Story from Wild Onion Press.

Sunshine

Sunshine works inside hospitals, Ronald McDonald Houses, hospice programs, assisted living programs and at Gentle Carousel’s Reading With Horses literacy programs.

Sweetheart

Sweetheart was a Cadbury Bunny finalist and came in second place in the national Cadbury Bunny competition. She is pretty sweet.

Toby

Toby was born while the therapy horses were working with children trapped in schools by the massive Moore, Oklahoma tornado. He was named by the children of Moore after hometown hero Toby Keith.

Wakanda

Wakanda has calmly traveled around the country. She was with the first team of Gentle Carousel horses that worked at Sandy Hook/Newtown, Connecticut right after the elementary school tragedy. She also was at Moore. . .
